While many of our brides and grooms choose to hold their weddings outdoors in the spring and summer months, outdoor weddings come with their own set of challenges.

Pittsburgh’s Best Outdoor Wedding Venues

Here’s a quick rundown of our favorite outdoor wedding venues near Pittsburgh and Allegheny, which are also some of our favorite places to perform PopRock Electric Violin, Traditional String Ensembles, and our Violin & DJ packages !

1. Armstrong Farms – Saxonburg, PA

Located just outside of historic Saxonburg, Armstrong Farms can trace its history all the way back to 1816 !  Although the property was initially used as a black Angus cattle farm, today Armstrong Farms also features two beautiful wedding venues in separate rustic barns: Fieldstone, which was originally built in the mid-1800s, and Westminster Preserve, which was built in 1862.  Don’t worry—each venue features modern accommodations !

2. Shady Elms Farm – Hickory, PA

You’ll find Shady Elms Farm 25 miles outside of Pittsburgh, just a quick hop off Route 50.  There, you’ll find one of Washington County’s prettiest outdoor wedding venues.  Featuring stunning green lawns and an on-site lake, Shady Elms Farm is a lovely venue that prides itself on simplifying your wedding planning by being all-inclusive.

3. The Chadwick – Wexford, PA

The Chadwick is a massive venue with two lovely outdoor options—and their patio even offers outdoor fans and curtains to keep your guests nice and cool on hot summer nights.  Those who choose the Chadwick can ensure they’re covered by rain while always getting plenty of natural light for pictures !

4. Bramblewood – McDonald, PA

Although the focal point of any Bramblewood wedding is its wooden arched barn, this McDonald wedding venue offers dazzling lakeside ceremonies !  Between the lush cocktail lawn, rustic decor, and picturesque lake, this is one wedding venue you shouldn’t overlook if you’d like to get married outside.

5.Irons Mill Farmstead – New Wilmington, PA

Iron Mills Farmstead is located about an hour from Downtown Pittsburgh (just north of Westminster College), but this is one outdoor wedding venue you shouldn’t overlook !  Irons Mill Farmstead combines modern amenities with rustic design by offering a luxurious climate-controlled barn for its receptions.  All in all, Irons Mill Farmstead is one of the best barn wedding venues in the Pittsburgh region.

6. Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden – Pittsburgh, PA

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens are more than a radiant collection of exoctic flowers and fragrant gardens.  Phipps is also one of Pittsburgh’s best outdoor wedding venues, and it’s conveniently located in Oakland !  With such a delightful property, there’s no shortage of perfect photo backdrops, and you and your guests will love every single accommodation.

7. Pinehall At Eisler Farms – Butler, PA

Pinehall offers everything you could want from a Pittsburgh barn wedding venue: luxurious yet rustic design, tree-lined pathways, fields of green, and quick access to the woods for forest photoshoots.  This is one venue that will make you feel like you’re stepping back in time, especially with Eisler Farms’ work truck from another era nearby !

8. Seven Springs Mountain Resort – Champion, PA

Although Seven Springs Mountain Resort is one of the farthest venues on this list, it’s extremely easy to reach: take the turnpike to exit 91, then drive until you reach Seven Springs Mountain Resort.  Thanks to the area’s high elevation and the venue’s sky resort, you’ll have picturesque views all year round—but especially during the summer months !

9. Grand Estate At Hidden Acres – Freeport, PA

The Grand Estate At Hidden Acres is truly breathtaking. Featuring a 10,000-square-foot mansion and 13.5 acres of pristine grounds, this is truly an incredible outdoor wedding venue close to Pittsburgh. After the wedding ceremony in the manicured backyard, you and your guests will head for the climate-controlled tent where you’ll receive plenty of natural light and fresh air.

10. Lingrow Farm – Leechburg, PA

Spread across 50 acres of farmland, Lingrow Farm offers plenty of extraordinary views and a great wedding venue.  In addition to fields of wildflowers and a romantic gazebo on the lake, you’ll find gourmet food prepared by Twisted Thistle—a popular restaurant located only a few minutes down the road !

11. The Grayson House at Mt. Hope – Uniontown, PA

The Grayson House at Mt. Hope takes pride in being one of southwest Pennsylvania’s most elegant wedding venues.  This inviting converted barn gives you and your guests views of the rolling farmland and Laurel Mountains—all at an affordable price point.

12. Pittsburgh Botanic Garden – Oakdale, PA

Not to be confused with Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is located in Settlers Cabin Park off Route 376.  Most wedding ceremonies at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden take place in Peirce Celebration Garden, a charming garden with a stone wall and romantic plantings.

13. Bella Sera – Canonsburg, PA

Featuring stunning Tuscan-inspired architecture, Bella Sera is a charming Pittsburgh wedding venue inside and out.  While indoor weddings ceremonies can be held in front of Bella Sera’s gorgeous fireplace, many couples choose to deliver their vows next to Bella Sera’s lovely pond.  You’ll also find tons of great photo opportunities at Bella Sera, including its massive boulders surrounding the water, the lush tree line, and the grand staircase.

14. Nemacolin – Farmington, PA

Tucked away in the Laurel Highlands, Nemacolin is an absolutely magical resort with access to everything from fine dining to off-roading to gambling to, of course, outdoor weddings.  Fun activities aside, Nemacolin truly is gorgeous in every sense of the word, and it’s a perfect venue for your special day.

15. The Barn At Madison – Madison, PA

Originally built as a dairy barn in 1799, the impressive architecture of the Barn at Madison soon earned it the nickname of the 8th Wonder of the World.  Eventually abandoned, the property was renovated nearly 10 years ago, restoring the grounds to their previous glory.  Unique, impressive, and utterly remarkable, this is one outdoor wedding venue near Pittsburgh you and your guests will remember for years to come !

16. Pittsburgh Airport Marriott – Coraopolis, PA

Conveniently located just down the street from the Pittsburgh airport, the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott features plenty of guest rooms with luxury accommodations and a wonderful tree-lined wedding venue.  After your ceremony, you and your guests can simply walk inside for one of the Marriott’s expansive indoor reception spaces.

17. National Aviary – Pittsburgh, PA

Conveniently located on Pittsburgh’s Northside, the National Aviary offers easy access to major hotel chains for your guests—and great photo ops for your wedding day.  In many cases, the National Aviary can make the colorful birds part of your wedding day, and the venue offers a few great locations to get married !

18. White Barn – Prospect, PA

Located just south of the Big Butler Fairgrounds, White Barn’s biggest draw is its cozy gazebo on a pristine lake—the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding. Afterward, you can head back to the barn for the reception.

19. Oglebay Resort – Wheeling, WV

Yes, Oglebay Resort is 60 miles away from Pittsburgh and located in Wheeling, West Virginia, but it’s such an impressive venue, we couldn’t let it pass by !  With Oglebay’s impressive grounds and stately views, your wedding day is sure to be incredible.

20. Hilton Garden Inn Southpointe Hotel – Canonsburg, PA

Elegantly designed and meticulously maintained, the Hilton Garden Inn offers a lush outdoor wedding ceremony space with an ornate pergola.  After the ceremony, you’ll enjoy the beautiful reception hall.  If your guests are staying at the hotel, they’ll have access to the pool, fitness center, on-site restaurant, and room service !
